Stockport's Blackthorn Festival is back and bigger than ever!
Blackthorn Festival will welcome Libertines front man Peter Doherty and Peter Hook and The Light to the picturesque Stockport countryside.
Originally beginning life as a massive party to celebrate Laura Hancock going away to Uni, the festival has grown over the last four years into a celebration of music, city culture and rural produce.
As well as the headliners, Blackthorn boasts a Friday night of tribute artists, including: Tom Hingley and The Kar-Pets, Happy Mondaze and R.E.M By Stipe.

Blackthorn boss Karl said: “The festival has grown from the original 25 bands on one stage to 70 plus bands on three stages. We never thought it would grow this much.”
He added: “Blackthorn has now become a full time job for myself, Laura and Jan. From getting the beer order right to ordering enough toilet paper!”
“I love meeting the public and watching them enjoying the atmosphere at an event we have put together.”
As well as top music, Blackthorn boasts dedicated areas for, live art, acoustic acts and spontaneous live art installations.
A huge part of Blackthorn is showcasing upcoming local bands and breakthrough artists. This year, The Blinders, Control Of The Going, Stillia and Plastic House are all featured on the line up.
Karl said: “The best thing about putting on the festival is getting to meet an array of super talented young people.”
