New Order join a cosmic line up at Cheshire's Bluedot festival
New Order join Hot Chip and Kraftwerk as headliners at this year’s Bluedot festival.
Taking place from 18th to 21st July, the fourth instalment of the award-winning festival once again mixes music, science and culture at the iconic Jodrell Bank Observatory.
Also performing in the shadow of the Lovell Telescope include Kate Tempest, 808 State and Jon Hopkins, as well as the world-renowned Halle orchestra, who will be performing ‘Lift Off’, a performance of specially selected sci-fi themes and music related to the moon.
As the sun goes down, there will also be late night parties with Attenborough Jungle Boogie, featuring audio and visual samples from the much loved biologist, and Fleetmac Wood, an AV rave mash-up of hits from the legendary band.
This year’s science and culture programme focuses on the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, with guests including natural history broadcaster Liz Bonnin, women’s rights activist Dr Helen Paknhurst and spaceflight expert Dr Libby Jackson.
The festival will also see the return of The Clangers, celebrating their 50th birthday!
Listen to Clint Boon during XS Festival Week 1st - 5th July for your chance to be at Bluedot.
