“It’s better than ever!” Shaun Ryder talks to XS ahead of Victorious Festival
Portsmouth’s Victorious festival welcomes headliners The Libertines, Paul Weller and The Prodigy among many others to the glorious Southsea Seafront.
Taking place across the August Bank Holiday weekend, the three-day festival is the UK’s biggest metropolitan festival of music and family entertainment.
Happy Mondays, Kaiser Chiefs, Sleaford Mods, Shed Seven, The Cribs and Gaz Coombes are just some of the acts playing across the weekend.
Shaun Ryder, frontman of legendary Manc band Happy Mondays, will take to the main stage on Saturday 25th.
Shaun said: “We’re playing better than ever. We sound better than ever, we’ve got rid of a lot of the shambolic nonsense that went with us at one time and its great, its more focused. It just all about the music.
“We’re playing better than ever. I appreciate the gigs and playing the songs and the work we did when we were younger. There’s a lot of love on stage.”
We're thrilled to announce that the legendary @BrianWilsonLive will be joining us at Victorious Festival 2018 along with @sleafordmods , @thecribs, @dubpistols and more!— Victorious Festival (@VictoriousFest) March 22, 2018
